Curriculum
USD 204 develops curriculum based on the Kansas Curricular Standards as approved by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE). KSDE reviews its curricular standards at least every seven years. The assessed curricular standards are English Language Arts, English Language Proficiency, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. State Assessments
Students in grades 3-8 and 10 take the Kansas State Assessments each spring. These are computerized tests in Reading and Math. Students in grades 5, 6, and 11 also take an assessment in Science. Every other year, students in grades 4, 6, 8, and 11 take a History/Government assessment in addition to the other subjects.

i-Ready Benchmark Assessments
Students in grades K-12 take the i-Ready assessment in the Fall, Winter, and Spring each year. The subjects tested are reading and math. This is a computerized test designed to determine a student's accurate learning level. More information may be obtained
